Just another day on the Rocket …

Done and dusted!

And … scene! Episode 1 is complete, and our character introductions are out of the way. To celebrate the occcasion, we have written a little character background for Rick. As usual, you can find it in our section “The Crew“.

So, yeah. This is the end of the beginning. We have also done a lot of seeding and planting for future stories. So, now our question is: How did you like the first chapter? We are looking forward to your feedback and comments. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, please don’t hesitate to reread the episode. Now that you know the full story, you might pick up on a lot of little details you may have missed on first read. That’s our hope, at least.

But the show must go on, and go on it will. Pretty soon, actually. We are currently knee deep in our prep work for Episode 2 and we should start up the second chapter in just a couple of weeks. Until then, however, we will never be far away. In just a couple of days, you will see the first strip in a little spin off. This strip will be less epic than the main story, and will mainly focus on a bit of light comedy. So, hopefully, it should give us a bit of a breather.

We’ll be back in full swing in about 2 – 4 weeks. Until then, however, we will do our best to keep you entertained in a different way.

Epic victory or epic fail? You decide! Finally, Barrie has managed to get Rick off the hook. But at what price? As you can see, today we finally reveal Barrie’s wanted poster.The whole subplot about the wanted posters was always planned to lead up to this point. Feels good, to be there.

She’s got it taped!

And so, Megan’s film becomes the key evidence in our court case. In the early stages of our story, it might have looked like Rick and friends were just stumbling aimlessly around, leaving a trail of wacky high jinx, shenanigans and, yes, even tomfoolery behind. Well, from a certain point of view, that’s probably still true. But be that as it may, there was always a plan to tie everything together in the end. We have been waiting a while for these reveals, and we are extra glad, we can finally show them to you.

I’ll sue your nylon jockstraps off, Rocket!

What the …? Rick Rocket in court! Well, hotdiggitydamn! And all of a sudden, our friend Barrie seizes control. Who would have thought?

Well, we planned it, obviously. In fact, we have been waiting to reveal Barrie’s real role in the Rocket crew for a long, long time. In the next couple of days you will see, that there’s much more to Barrie than his characteristic bitching and moaning about bills and impending doom.

In fact, we have a lot planned for the final week of our first story. Yes, indeed, next week will be all about the (hopefully) satisfying wrapup. We’ll tell you about our plans for the future soon …

The Inspector!!

Who’s that guy? Well, if you have had a chance to watch Majus’ spiritual prequel to Rocketmen, the flash film “Rick Rocket”, you may have already made the acquiantance of Rick’s self appointed nemesis, “The Inspector”.

As you may know, the comic strips takes place in it’s own reality, but The Inspector was just too fun a character to abandon. No matter how much we have changed the concept, we just couldn’t let go of him. So, if today’s strip works like we intended, it will serve as both, an introduction for new readers and a reintroduction for old timers. Excpect to see more of this guy in the future.

Rocket Afficionado

A stitch in time saves … urm … nope. Can’t think of another fiber-based pun. Luckily, our erstwhile count seems to be done (in) for the time being. But what’s that? Somebody else is appearing from the woodwork. And old fan, perhaps? Or maybe, just maybe, even an old foe? Who could this mysterious figure be?

One thing is for sure: Before we can finally wrap our first story up, our crew has to face one more challenge. So, this week, you guys can expect a nice little surprise revelation and a new exciting setting. Finally, most of the questions are out of the way. Time for some answers.

Some people said, Rick would never be a high flyer. Well, we have proven them wrong, haven’t we? This week, Rick and Kashmir are, believe it or not, walking on air. But the higher you rise, the deeper you fall … or do you? Stay tuned to find out.

By the way, our little hommage last week was the quote “what a guy” from classic sci-fi-britcom Red Dwarf (http://www.reddwarf.co.uk). We are already incredibly excited for series 10 late next year. Seriously, if you have never watched Red Dwarf, treat yourself. Even after all these years, it’s still brilliant.
